Today, The Redhill Valleys released their new holiday single “Blue Christmas” via MDM Recordings Inc. / Universal Music Canada. The somber track, made famous by Elvis Presley, has since been covered by multiple artists in numerous genres and details the sadness of spending the holidays without the ones you love by your side. Adding their own unique stylings to the song, the four-piece collective once again showcase their evolving sound that straddles the line between rock and country while encompassing rootsy folk aspects that garner the attention and demand from fans and audiences alike.
A Message From The Redhill Valleys
“We love Elvis’ Blue Christmas. It’s a classic song that we all grew up listening to around the holidays. We were really inspired by the original recording and didn’t want to stray too far from it. We added our own Americana flare with rich baritone guitar parts and had a lot of fun layering in some playful harmonies. The drums also have a cool swampy feel which we think adds an extra bit of attitude.”
